Police are encouraging business owners to review their security by investing in gates, locking mechanisms, an alarm system, window shutters, strong vehicle height restrictors, CCTV, dusk until dawn lighting, warning signs and static security guards.
As the local police force is being pushed to it's limits, there are a growing number or 'ShopWatch' Schemes popping up. Business owners are keeping in touch online and creating voluntary groups to patrol their local commercial areas. Retailers and businesses owners working together to protect each others businesses and to keep an eye out for any criminal activity or anti-social behaviour.
